Mineral Cosmetique Application Techniques - Applying Mineral Cosmetiques:
It is best to apply minerals in thin layers. Two is usually sufficient. Also, make sure moisturizer has completely absorbed before applying mineral powder. - Enhanced coverage techniques:
Use a smaller concealing brush, flocked sponge or apply over Lauren Brooke Anti-Aging Moisturizer for fuller coverage. This is especially good for areas under the eyes and for concealing large pores. - Applying Mineral Eye Liner:
Use an eye liner brush wet or dry to create beautiful, easy eyeliner. Just lightly dip an eyeliner brush into the colour you want and apply around eyes. The eye liner also works well for brow colour. Layering too thickly or pressing into the skin with the sponge tends to separate the crystals. Apply the minerals in thin layers in downward strokes with the Italian Kabouki brush or flocked sponge. Keep adding layers until desired coverage has been reached. - Creating an even foundation tone:
Uneven tones are usually the result of the foundation being applied before the moisturizer has been absorbed or because the moisturizer being used only lays on the skin surface. The simple solution is to wait a minute for the moisturizer to disappear or to blot any excess. - Finding the correct foundation colour:
The best way to test for the right foundation color is to apply it on the jaw line in natural sunlight. The correct color blends into the skin tone when brushed onto the skin. - Using Mineral Cosmetiques after laser resurfacing and microdermabrasion treatments:
Mineral Make-up can be applied immediately after a light peel or microdermabrasion. It will not only cover the redness but, because of the anti-inflammatory abilities, will help to calm the irritation. Application after laser resurfacing depends on the laser that was used and how deeply it was used. Makeup should only be applied after the skin has reepithelized. This can be from 7 to 14 days post-op, but makeup should only be applied if the doctor has given his/her okay. Do not apply minerals over a heavy petroleum based balm or heavy cream. Makeup will get cakey. The Flocked sponge works effectively for post laser work. If the powders appear to accentuate wrinkles or look dry because the skin is flaky from the resurfacing, apply Lauren Brooke Moisturizer first. - After exercising or swimming:
Since Mineral Cosmetiques are water resistant, blotting the excess moisture instead of wiping or rubbing it will allow the minerals to stay on the skin after exercising or swimming. Lauren Brooke Mineral Makeup does not block pores. The skin is allowed to 'breathe' and receive the oxygen necessary to inhibit bacteria growth within the pores.
