Humanitarian Spotlight:
Lauren Brooke Cosmetiques recently sponsored Josh Erickson, a team leader of a humanitarian project organized by Kaiizen Foundation to Ensanada, Mexico. Thanks to Kaiizen, Josh's service not only benefited himself and the locals--but he was able to be a role model to a group of troubled youth who went along to serve.
Erickson recalls, "We went to an orphanage and made many friends there, even though we couldn't communicate bilingually. We met many orphans, played games with them, and had a good time." Many of the children in the orphanage have been rescued from child prostitution and welcomed the healthy play of childhood. Other families were relieved by the group's efforts as they made "survival" packs and presented them to local families in need. "Their households were so humble and impoverished," says Erickson, "it was very sad. But they were so happy when they saw the food and toiletries."
Thanks to Lauren Brooke Cosmetiques, The Kaiizen Foundation, and all those who gave of their time, the little children in the Encinada orphanage, the needy families in Mexico, and the troubled youth group that went had incredible experiences and life-changing moments. All that went said they took away more from this than they gave and are grateful for the experience and opportunity.
Below are pictures that were taken to highlight the experience.

The beginning of the Humanitarian trip to Encinada, Mexico & the orphanages welcome sign.

The children they played with at the school and families they got to know.

The school they visited. One of the homes they made and took survival kits to.

A wonderful family that we bonded with as we dropped off survival kits.

These are pictures of home structures and the school that they visited.

The children were so grateful to see them and to know people care.

Having fun playing and hanging with the kids.

After the survival kits, Santa came and gave gifts to all the kids.

One of the nights they staged a fear factor contest, the fun and laughter was nice!

I learned so much and will always have the memories I made.
